Several children from Broomhill Junior School's Writers' Club entered the national writing competition called "Small Talk". All the pieces of creative writing entered in the competition had to be less than 50 words long - which is not as easy as it sounds!
We are very proud to say that some of our pupils who entered the competition have won the chance to have their creative writing published in a real book, along with other work from children across the country. The book will be published by the Young Writers' Organisation in the Autumn.
Well done to all our budding authors!

Michael (Year 6)
The burglar stared into the house, it was deserted. He crept inside and saw lots of jewels. Something caught his attention. He put it in his bag, it began to glow. Suddenly his bag began to swell and swell and swell, it started to suffocate him.

Lucy (Year 5)
My hands were shaking and I was nearly sick. My mouth vibrated more each second. Suddenly we zoomed downwards. I screamed. When we landed on the ground I wished that I wasn’t so scared about travelling on rollercoasters.

Chloe N. (Year 5)
My hands vibrated. We started moving. I was getting scared. Suddenly I was shooting up. I was starting to scream my head off. I saw I was about to enter a loop. I shut my eyes. I was hanging upside down. I was screaming. I was in Space Mountain.
